Heat Exchanger Cleaning

Heat Exchanger Cleaning
  • Pre-Cleaning - This includes a high-pressure water cleaning to remove loose scaling and fouling. In the case of severe fouling or scaling, a high-pressure steam clean follows.

  • Powder Blasting - For rigid scaling not dissolved in acidic or caustic solutions, powder-blasting is used followed by high-pressure steam or water.

  • Liquid Nitrogen - For other types of hard scaling the preferred method to remove the scaling is using liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen is also used in the removal of gaskets glued with two component epoxy.

  • Chemical Cleaning - The majority of the more than half a million plates we clean every year are chemically cleaned. A carefully selected cleaning solution will be used to assure the quickest possible cleaning. Different temperatures, agitation, and concentrations will be utilized to assure maximum cleaning efficiency. It is not always possible to reach the required result by using one cleaning solution. Sometimes hours in an agitated acid solution has to be followed by extended periods in a high temperature caustic solution.
